Hello there:)
I hope you are liking the tips of the day. They can make a huge difference by just taking baby steps and changing small things each day. Here you are:)
16.
Eat only when you are hungry. Some of us have the tendency to eat whenever we see food. We use parties as an excuse to stuff our selves. Understand that the effect of a whole week of dieting can be wasted by just one day’s party food. Whenever you are offered something to eat do not decline it completely bit just break of a nibble so that you appear to mind your manners and at the same time can watch your diet.
17.
Quit snacking in between meals. Do not fall for snacks in between meals. This is especially true for those who have to travel a lot. They feel that the only time they can get a bite to eat is snacks and junk food. The main problem with most snacks and junk food is that they are usually less filling and contain a lot of fat and calories. Just think about French fries…tempting but terribly fattening.
18.
Snack on vegetables if you must. You might get the pangs of hunger in between meals. It is something that you can very well control. Or even better, try munching on carrots. They are an excellent way to satisfy those hungry pangs and are good for your eyes and teeth. True, you might end up being called Bugs Bunny, but its miles better to be called Bugs Bunny than fatso.
19.
Go easy on tea and coffee. Tea and coffee are harmless by themselves. It’s when you add the cream and sugar that they become fattening. Did you know that having a cup of tea or coffee that has cream and at least two cubes of sugar is as bad as having a big piece of rich chocolate cake?
20.
Try to stick to black tea/coffee. Black tea or coffee can actually be good for you. But personally I would like to recommend tea rather than coffee. The caffeine in the coffee is not really good for you because it is an alkaloid and can affect other functions of your body like the metabolism.
Have an awesome day:)
Tracey:)

Hey Guys,
I hope you have been enjoying these tips and putting them to work for you:) Here is 11-15...
11.
Go crazy on vegetables. Vegetables are your best bet when it comes to losing pounds. Nature has a terrific spread when it comes to choosing vegetables. And the leafy green vegetables are your best bet. Try to include a salad in you diet always.
12.
Eat intelligently. The difference between man and beast is that we are driven by intelligence while beasts are driven by instinct. Don’t just eat something because you feel like eating it. Ask your self whether your body really needs it.
13.
Watch what you eat. Keep a watchful eye on every thing that goes in. Sometimes the garnishes can richer than the food itself. Accompaniments too can be very rich. Remember that it is the easiest thing in the world to eat something without realizing that it was something that you should not have eaten. Selective memory you know…
14.
Control that sweet tooth. Remember that sweet things generally mean more calories. It is natural that we have cravings for sweet things especially chocolates and other confectionary. Go easy on theses things and each time you consume something sweet understand that it is going to add on somewhere.
15.
Fix times to have meals and stick to it. Try to have food at fixed times of the day. You can stretch these times by half an hour, but anything more than that is going to affect your eating pattern, the result will either be a loss of appetite or that famished feeling which will make you stuff yourself with more than what is required the next time you eat.
Have an awesome day:)

Hey Guys,
I hope you all had an awesome Valentines day. I sure did. We did a double movie night of "Push" and "Hotel For Dogs". They both were awesome. Here is the next 4 tips. Make sure to go all the way to the PS to see the free Gucci offer...wow.. I was excited to find this:)
7.
Eat fresh fruit instead of drinking fruit juice. Juice is often sweetened but fresh fruits have natural sugars. When you eat fruit, you are taking in a lot of fiber, which is needed by the body, and fruits of course are an excellent source of vitamins.
8.
If you do have a craving for fruit juice then go for fresh fruit juice instead of these that contain artificial flavors and colors. Or even better, try making your own fruit juice taking care not to sweeten it with too many calories.
9.
Choose fresh fruit to processed fruits. Processed and canned fruits do not have as much fiber as fresh fruit and processed and canned fruits are nearly always sweetened.
10.
Increase your fiber intake. Like I mentioned, the body needs a lot of fiber. So try to include in your diet as many fruits and vegetables as you can.
Hope your Valentines day was awesome:)

Hey Guys,
Here is tip #2-#6:
2.
Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. It’s a wonderful way to start you day and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast drink after that. A glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and sort of lubricates the insides of your body. You may have your morning cup of tea but have it after a glass of water. It is good for you.
3.
Drink a glass of water before you start the meal. Water naturally needs some space so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself.
4.
Have another glass of water while you are having the meal. Again this is another way of making yourself full so that you can actually rise from the table eating less but feeling full just the same. Instead of drinking it one gulp, take sips after each morsel. It will help the food to settle faster so that you get that feeling that you are full faster.
SIDENOTE: Water is such a remarkable thing, but seldom do we give it the credit that it deserves. Did you know that over 66% of your body weight is nothing but water? It’s amazing!
Water also plays a vital role in weight control, which is why I donated so much space to it, above.
5.
Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. Hey all those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.
6.
Include in your diet things that contain more water like tomatoes and watermelons. These things contain 90 to 95 % water so that there is nothing that you have to lose by feasting on them. They fill you up without adding to the pounds.
Have an awesome day:)
Tracey:)

Tip: Moderation is the key to diet success
Why do most diets fail? They typically fail because the dieter sets unrealistic rules they cannot follow long term. One rule that seems to always be a reoccurring theme is the "I shall not eat junk food until I have lost X amount of lbs" rule. Truth be told, not many of us have the will power to go cold turkey on our favorite treats. How realistic is it to tell yourself that you will not eat pizza, ice cream or whatever your favorite treat is for until you've lost 5, 10, 20lbs? This is how we ultimately fail.
How does one diet successfully? In my years as a fitness trainer, I never put my clients on a stereo typical "diet". That is why I create the 3 Phase dietDECK with 3 different plans to fit all needs. I had them master the habit of eating in moderation where nothing is "off limits". This eliminates the feeling of guilt that ultimately leads to diet failure. When you allow yourself to eat what you crave (in moderation of course) then you won't over eat when you do satisfy that craving. You can do simple things such as use a smaller plate to eat off of and always leave a bite or two of food on your plate. Making small changes in your eating habits can make a big difference in your waistline.
So although it is not stated in the cards at this time, make sure that you give yourself a free day and any cravings you have, save them for that day. You will see a huge difference.

There are so many ways to try to lose weight and to keep the weight off once you have achieved your goals. Some are easier then others. This is a really EASY way to help, get more fiber in your diet. Here are just a few facts about fiber:
Fiber intake of 25g a day helps keep weight off?
Fiber stays in our stomach longer than other substances we eat?
Fiber moves fat through our digestive system faster, absorbing less?
Awesome info. Ok you do need to get some fitness time into your day as well so here is a really fast but effective 10 min workout you can do, we do a similar one in our boot camp class:
Do each for a 20 second of exercise and then take a 10 second rest. Do 2 rounds:)
1. Jump squat (from a squat position, jump into the air like you are shooting a basket)
2. Regular crunch
3. Jump squat
4. Run in place
5. Jump squat
6. Regular crunch
7. Jump squat
8. Run in place
You should be butt tired:) Have an awesome day and make your fitness goals a priority. PLAY TO WIN the game of your health, not to just be a participant..

Hey Ladies,
Wow we are 6 days away from Christmas, can you believe it:) I finally TODAY did my shopping and I still have not done the Christmas Cards, that is on tomorrows list...lol:) Well I search the great web today and I came accross something interesting. There has been so much contoversy on the ephedra craze from a few years ago when Phem, Phem was on the market. Well now adays you may have seen the Medi clinics and the Vit B 12 shots, well they also are using a form of Ephedra that is still available in the market. I was shocked but the bottom line is, it works. I have a friend that has been overweight for the last 10 years that I have know her and she has been seeing a doctor doing the Vit B 12 hots and the Ephedra. Well she spends $400 a month for this, a little out of MOST budgets... So anyways I came accross this f.ree sample and wanted to pass it on to you:) Let me know what you think, if you decide to do it:) Here is the email I got:

Have and AWESOME day:) Remember it is a Holiday, not an HoliMONTH.....LOL

Press Release: Arvada, CO, May 01, 2008
A research-based supplement company (GNS), is recruiting participants
between the ages of 18 and 69 for a local marketing study.
In an odd twist of events, their last test group, a group ofself-proclaimed
"desperate housewives" were recruited to try the new 'Slim Seduction'
pill which they quickly renamed "the passion pill", as it unexpectedly caused
a sizzling, new spark in their love lives!!
Not only had the group had lost an extraordinary amount of fat, they had
even some very unwanted cellulite from their lower bodies and bellies.
With over 57 scientific studies indicating that Slim-Seduction's individual
ingredients act to accelerate the burning of body fat (including cellulite),
and zapping cravings. The researchers were not surprised at the fat-loss,
but they were amazed by the increased "libido".
Now researchers want even more proof that Slim Seduction works as quickly
in the real world as its ingredients do in the laboratory, and the astonishing
initial tests.
More feedback is needed and if you qualify, you will receive a 30-Day Supply
so you can participate in this important testing.
Participation is being limited, so you must act now.

www.ladiesfitnessbootcamp.com This is the 5th and last post on "Why the Scale Lies"!! If you have just started to read this BLOG then go to the Part 1 to read the entire thing. Ladies fitness boot camps want you to get the results you can and it is not determined by what is on the scale. Enjoy this last part:)
Robin Landis, author of "Body Fueling," compares fat and muscles to feathers and gold. One pound of fat is like a big fluffy, lumpy bunch of feathers, and one pound of muscle is small and valuable like a piece of gold. Obviously, you want to lose the dumpy, bulky feathers and keep the sleek beautiful gold. The problem with the scale is that it doesn't differentiate between the two. It can't tell you how much of your total body weight is lean tissue and how much is fat. There are several other measuring techniques that can accomplish this, although they vary in convenience, accuracy, and cost. Skin-fold calipers pinch and measure fat folds at various locations on the body, hydrostatic (or underwater) weighing involves exhaling all of the air from your lungs before being lowered into a tank of water, and bioelectrical impedance measures the degree to which your body fat impedes a mild electrical current.
If the thought of being pinched, dunked, or gently zapped just doesn't appeal to you, don't worry. The best measurement tool of all turns out to be your very own eyes. How do you look? How do you feel? How do your clothes fit? Are your rings looser? Do your muscles feel firmer? These are the true measurements of success. If you are exercising and eating right, don't be discouraged by a small gain on the scale. Fluctuations are perfectly normal. Expect them to happen and take them in stride. Its a matter of mind over scale.

www.ladiesfitnessbootcamp.com This is the 4th part of Why The Scale Lies and the last post will be coming up. I hope this will give you and all the Fitness Boot Camp ladies why you should never focus on the scale. Enjoy the article....
Exercise physiologists tell us that in order to store one pound of fat, you need to eat 3,500 calories more than your body is able to burn. In other words, to actually store the above dinner as 5 pounds of fat, it would have to contain a whopping 17,500 calories. This is not likely, in fact it's not humanly possible. So when the scale goes up 3 or 4 pounds overnight, rest easy, its likely to be water, glycogen, and the weight of your dinner. Keep in mind that the 3,500 calorie rule works in reverse also. In order to lose one pound of fat you need to burn 3,500 calories more than you take in. Generally, it's only possible to lose 1-2 pounds of fat per week. When you follow a very low calorie diet that causes your weight to drop 10 pounds in 7 days, it's physically impossible for all of that to be fat. What you're really losing is water, glycogen, and muscle.
This brings us to the scale's sneakiest attribute. It doesn't just weigh fat. It weighs muscle, bone, water, internal organs and all. When you lose "weight," that doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ve lost fat. In fact, the scale has no way of telling you what you’ve lost (or gained). Losing muscle is nothing to celebrate. Muscle is a metabolically active tissue. The more muscle you have the more calories your body burns, even when you’re just sitting around. That's one reason why a fit, active person is able to eat considerably more food than the dieter who is unwittingly destroying muscle tissue.

This is part 3 of Why The Scale Lies for all Ladies fitness boot campers to understand...
Women may also retain several pounds of water prior to menstruation. This is very common and the weight will likely disappear as quickly as it arrives. Pre-menstrual water-weight gain can be minimized by drinking plenty of water, maintaining an exercise program, and keeping high-sodium processed foods to a minimum.
Another factor that can influence the scale is glycogen. Think of glycogen as a fuel tank full of stored carbohydrate. Some glycogen is stored in the liver and some is stored the muscles themselves. This energy reserve weighs more than a pound and its packaged with 3-4 pounds of water when it's stored. Your glycogen supply will shrink during the day if you fail to take in enough carbohydrates. As the glycogen supply shrinks you will experience a small imperceptible increase in appetite and your body will restore this fuel reserve along with its associated water. It's normal to experience glycogen and water weight shifts of up to 2 pounds per day even with no changes in your calorie intake or activity level. These fluctuations have nothing to do with fat loss, although they can make for some unnecessarily dramatic weigh-ins if youre prone to obsessing over the number on the scale.
Otherwise rational people also tend to forget about the actual weight of the food they eat. For this reason, it's wise to weigh yourself first thing in the morning before you've had anything to eat or drink. Swallowing a bunch of food before you step on the scale is no different than putting a bunch of rocks in your pocket. The 5 pounds that you gain right after a huge dinner is not fat. It's the actual weight of everything you’ve had to eat and drink. The added weight of the meal will be gone several hours later when you've finished digesting it.
More to come on this....

Here is part 2 of the "Why the Scale Lies" for the Ladies Fitness Boot Campers..
Water makes up about 60% of total body mass. Normal fluctuations in the body's water content can send scale-watchers into a tailspin if they don't understand what's happening. Two factors influencing water retention are water consumption and salt intake. Strange as it sounds, the less water you drink, the more of it your body retains. If you are even slightly dehydrated your body will hang onto its water supplies with a vengeance, possibly causing the number on the scale to inch upward. The solution is to drink plenty of water.
Excess salt (sodium) can also play a big role in water retention. A single teaspoon of salt contains over 2,000 mg of sodium. Generally, we should only eat between 1,000 and 3,000 mg of sodium a day, so it's easy to go overboard. Sodium is a sneaky substance. You would expect it to be most highly concentrated in salty chips, nuts, and crackers. However, a food doesn't have to taste salty to be loaded with sodium. A half cup of instant pudding actually contains nearly four times as much sodium as an ounce of salted nuts, 460 mg in the pudding versus 123 mg in the nuts. The more highly processed a food is, the more likely it is to have a high sodium content. That’s why, when it comes to eating, it's wise to stick mainly to the basics: fruits, vegetables, lean meat, beans, and whole grains. Be sure to read the labels on canned foods, boxed mixes, and frozen dinners.

This will be part 1 on this very important subject we talk about in Boot Camp!
Why the Scale Lies - Part 1
We've been told over and over again that daily weighing is unnecessary, yet many of us can't resist peeking at that number every morning. If you just can't bring yourself to toss the scale in the trash, you should definitely familiarize yourself with the factors that influence its readings. From water retention to glycogen storage and changes in lean body mass, daily weight fluctuations are normal. They are not indicators of your success or failure. Once you understand how these mechanisms work, you can free yourself from the daily battle with the bathroom scale.

Well it is that time of the year AGAIN, New Years RESOLUTIONS!!! Many people look at their health at this time of the year. If you vow to LOOSE WEIGHT this year, these ideas might help your weight loss efforts. They may seem simple but they truly can make a difference in your hitting your fitness or weight loss goals.
• Set your GOALS! - Something that is specific, realistic & measurable. This is a crucial step for your success.
• Keep a food journal - We all seem to be more aware of what we are putting in our mouth if we have to write it down.
• Grocery shop with a list - do not shop when you are hungry. Try and stay on the outside lanes as much as possible.
• Eat from a smaller plate - this will help you if you like to see your plate full.
• Put your utensil down & take a drink after every bite - It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register that you are fed, so this will slow your eating up and you will feel more satisfied with less food.
• Exercise more - get yourself a pedometer. Your first goal should be to get in 10,000 steps a day or do something fun like a Fitness Boot Camp class.
We hope these ideas help you!! Have a Happy New Year!!
