Have you ever heard of the "CRAB" Theory. This is when crabs are in a bucket all together and when one of them tries to climb up to get out of the bucket, the other crabs will pull them back down. This is a true story.....
Life can be like that too. When you are starting your "Health" journey or stepping out from what has been the norm, either in your lifestyle or career or any area of your life, you will have the people around you try to pull you back into the norm. This is usually the people that love you and support you or that you think would really be your cheerleaders. They do not like the fact that you are becoming healthier then they are or more successful then they are and they not knowing and sometime knowingly will try to pull you back in.
Keep an eye out for this sabotage and don't play into it. It is OK to step out of the box and to climb out of the bucket to move on to bigger and better things. Have a great weekend..

Well it is that time of the year AGAIN, New Years RESOLUTIONS!!! Many people look at their health at this time of the year. If you vow to LOOSE WEIGHT this year, these ideas might help your weight loss efforts. They may seem simple but they truly can make a difference in your hitting your fitness or weight loss goals.
• Set your GOALS! - Something that is specific, realistic & measurable. This is a crucial step for your success.
• Keep a food journal - We all seem to be more aware of what we are putting in our mouth if we have to write it down.
• Grocery shop with a list - do not shop when you are hungry. Try and stay on the outside lanes as much as possible.
• Eat from a smaller plate - this will help you if you like to see your plate full.
• Put your utensil down & take a drink after every bite - It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register that you are fed, so this will slow your eating up and you will feel more satisfied with less food.
• Exercise more - get yourself a pedometer. Your first goal should be to get in 10,000 steps a day or do something fun like a Fitness Boot Camp class.
We hope these ideas help you!! Have a Happy New Year!!

Just because it is that time of the year that we are on a 2 week break does not mean that your fitness training program is on vacation as well. I know it is nice to have a break from the hard weekly workouts but it is so important to keep up some sort of fitness program ladies.....
I would encourage you to have fun with your family and friends and just make it a game. Here is a great idea for a way that you can keep up your fitness program but with a twist....
It is called the Commercials Workout
Equipment Needed:
Television
Carpet/mat
Chair/benches/couch
Perform exercise assigned to each commercial theme. There are no
specific repetitions, execute the exercise for the duration of the given
commercial. Continue this through an entire show (works great with
sporting events).
Auto Commercials- Push ups
Drug Commercials- Prisoner Squats (hands behind your head)
Food Commercials- Burpees
Movie/Show previews- Knee tucks
Insurance Commercials- Lunges
Have fun with this and Have a Very Merry Christmas

Wow, tomorrow 12/07 is my 40th birthday. I have sort of been having a hard time with this birthday. I always had the call of "FREE at 40".... Be in the best health and financial situation by 40. I guess I am not quite where I wanted to be at 40. I am sure that some of you can relate to this.
I think on the positive side that I have a nice home, my health, a great husband, my kids are healthy, my own business and life is good, with a few financial struggles due to the closing of the gyms. Then I have a negative thought that "my life is 1/2 over".... (YUK). I like the positive side better.
While my mind was going back and forth on this matter, I had a Fitness Boot Camp member say to me, "you still have a full year to go, you are 40 for a year".... I had never even thought of that. (Thank you Pam J.)
So now I am excited to start this year. This year is going to be the turning point in my life to truly fulfill my dreams and get into the position I planned on being in. Truly Fit and in a GREAT financial position at 40!!!

Why do we always wait till the first of the year to take on a New Resolution? It may be because we want to feel like we have something to keep us accountable, or maybe because it gives us a specific time to start something new, or maybe it is just that we want to put something off and be REALLY bad until THAT day.
I say, "Do It NOW"!! Why wait? You can drawl that line and take a leap over it and get started now feeling great and just carry it into the new year!
I am very proud of you all that are in the Ladies Fitness Boot Camp classes in Litchfield Park and in Phoenix. You have the drive to DO IT NOW and you will be, and are, feeling great right now!!
Lets keep it going into the New Year and DON'T LOOK BACK!!
